Harcus Parker is a specialist commercial litigation firm based in London.

The team at Harcus Parker will be led by Jenny Morrissey. She has extensive experience of acting for claimants in high value financial services and securities disputes.

Jenny is acting in active High Court proceedings for the Core VCT venture capital trusts (venture capital trusts are specialised investment companies listed on the London Stock Exchange for investment in small and medium-sized businesses) in claims relating to allegations that investment assets belonging to the trusts were misappropriated by the former investment manager and its associates.

In February 2022, Jenny acted for the successful claimants in defeating a jurisdiction challenge brought by the Swiss investment bank, UBS. The Commercial Court in London confirmed it had jurisdiction over the claims. The claims themselves were worth upwards of US$500 million and involved the acquisition of shares listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange via a complex and boutique transaction structure, including margin call loan financing from UBS worth c. US$775 million.

She also acted as part of the team representing almost 6,000 claimants in claims against Lloyds Banking Group and others in connection with claims worth some £385 million arising out of Lloyds’ acquisition of HBOS in 2009.

The team will also include Edward Argles, an Associate at Harcus Parker. Edward specialises in commercial litigation and securities group claims.
